1. Attend a luau.
Old Lahaina Luau. In Lahaina, on a specially built, open-air luau grounds next to the ocean, the Old Lahaina Luau is one of the finest luaus in the world, offering excellent Hawaiian food and entertainment in an unparalleled setting. We have attended this luau a few times and have never been disappointed. The show is amazing. A good setting if you have kids.2. The Drive to Hana
One of the world's most scenic drives is located on Maui with 54 bridges in 56 miles along a winding lava shore, through old plantation towns, past miles of beaches and through towering forests. This is a all day excursion. When planning the road to Hana, you must leave in the early AM. We took a picnic lunch that we ate along the road on one of the mile markers. We have provided a CD for your car to help you with the drive. It tells you all the mile markers to stop at. Once you are there, there is so much to do. We recommend the hike back to the seven sacred pools and the 400' waterfall.
3. Maui Sightseeing
Visit nostalgic plantation towns, tour the historic preservation district of Lahaina, see the biggest Buddha outside of Asia, stop at old Hawaiian churches, or visit a museum dedicated to Maui's whaling history. Walk through an aquarium and watch the fish swim around and above you, or marvel at the beauty of Īao Needle and the West Maui Mountains. Drive to the pools of Oheo Gulch or under the canopy of giant redwood trees in Olinda. The choices are endless.
4. Visit Julies Best Banana Bread
Just north of the condo is Julia's Best Banana Bread. This is a must when you are staying in our condo. They are located in a little village called Kahakuloa. Their famous tree house has samples of some of their treats made only on Maui. They offer their famous Julia's Banana Bread, Coconut Candy Nuggets, Dried Mango, Roasted Macadamia Nuts, Ulu (Breadfruit - seasonal), Taro Chips, Pineapple & Passion Fruit Jelly, and amazing Liliko'i (Passion Fruit) Butter Spread.
5. Nakalele Blowhole
The drive from Kapalua, around Nakalele Point and on to Wailuku is extraordinary. Nakalele Blowhole is the result of the ocean wearing away the shore below the lava shelf. With each wave, water is forced through a hole in the lava shelf resulting in the "eruption" of water similar to a geyser.
6. Snorkel
Right around the corner from the condo is a Snorkel Bobs. Rent snorkel gear and walk right out into our bay for some amazing snorkeling. Or just south of us where the gazebo restaurant is we call Turtle Bay. Go swim with the turtles. You can also visit Honolua Bay Beach. It is part of the Mokuleia Marine Life Conservation District. There is only a small sand beach here, so most water activities involve snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. Water conditions vary dramatically in this area depending on ocean currents, rainfall, and the season. As this beach is located in a marine life preserve, the fish are numerous and the coral formations are spectacular. The right side of the bay has the best snorkeling and diving scenery.
7. Visit The Gazebo And Sea House Restaurants on the Bay
The view at the Gazebo is fabulous since it's right on the ocean adjacent to Napili Bay. The Gazebo has the same menu through all hours of the day, serving only breakfast and lunch from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. There are great pancakes, omelet's, salads, sandwiches, burgers and more. See below for specific Gazebo menu items as well as photos. The Sea House Restaurant, nestled directly on Napili Beach, is an open-air Maui restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. SHHHHHH!!! We have a secret. The Sea House Restaurant won Maui Magazine's 2010 'Aipono Award for "Best Kept Secret". The Sea House boasts one of the few truly "beachfront" dining locations on Maui.
8. Sunset Cruise
Maui's most delightful cocktail cruise or a premier on-ocean dining experience with Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures! Departing from both Lahaina Harbor and Ma'alaea Harbor, these sunset cruises create the perfect atmosphere for a high spirited evening filled with laughter and good times. For the most relaxing evening of your vacation, join them for the beauty of a tropical sunset at sea highlighted with live island music and superbly mixed drinks!
9. Golfing
Whether you're teeing up for the first time or feel up to the taking on one of our championship courses, you won't be disappointed. Tee times are readily available, as are lessons from several golf pros.
Over 10 courses for you to choose from you wont be disappointed. You try to concentrate, but find it no easy task. It's the view that's the problem, framed by groves of native trees, extending from the green of the tee at your feet into a limitless expanse of blue. On Maui, you may very well find your biggest challenge is merely trying to keep your eye on the ball. Kapalua Bay and Plantation Courses are the best on the island and are walking distances from the condo.
10. Visit Molokini Crater
The Crater is an extinct partial cylinder cone that has formed into an atoll. It now serves as a State Marine Life and Bird Conservation District. This makes Molokini prime snorkeling territory with over 250 fish species. Some of these tropical fish can be found nowhere else on Earth. The inner waters of Molokini's crescent shape offers graded semi-shallow waters perfect for snorkeling. With its close proximity to Maui's south shore, Molokini snorkeling is easy to get to.
